The Senate President, Ahmad Lawan has sent the names of those appointed into the board of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to the appropriate Committee for screening. During Wednesday’s plenary, the Senate President forwarded the names of the nominees to the Committee on Anti-Corruption and Financial Crimes for legislative action. 2 Inmates Killed at Violence-Plagued Mississippi Prison

Two prisoners were killed at the Mississippi State Penitentiary at Parchman on Monday night. It’s the latest deadly incident at the prison, which has been dealing with stretches of violence in the past few weeks. The Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC) says an altercation between multiple inmates left Timothy Hudspeth, 35, and another inmate with fatal injuries.
