“The Buccaneers” has been renewed for a second season at Apple TV+. The 19th century period drama from U.K. scripted production company The Forge is based on Edith Wharton’s unfinished novel of the same name. It tells the story of a group of party-loving American girls in 1870 who descend upon London to bag a husband and inadvertently find themselves navigating an Anglo-American culture clash. “Sent to secure husbands and titles, the buccaneers’ hearts are set on much more than that, and saying ‘I do’ is just the beginning…” reads the logline.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, on Sunday threatened to embark on another strike following the non-payment of salaries and alleged victimisation of members. The Chairman of ASUU in the University of Ibadan, Prof. Ayo Akinwole, in a statement called on Nigerians to blame the Federal Government if universities are shut down again. Akinwole noted that the federal government has not fulfilled it promises despite the lecturers suspending the strike on December 24, 2020.
