But if they’re fans of “The Office” or “Friends” — two of the most popular shows on Netflix right now — they will have a tough time getting more than two subscriptions together: “The Office” will eventually move to NBCUniversal’s new service, which will cost a reported $12 a month for those who don't subscribe to pay TV, and “Friends” is moving to WarnerMedia’s HBO Max, which is reported to be slightly more than HBO Now’s $14.99.

Most people (66 percent) said they pay for up to two streaming services and 28 percent said they pay for three or four. Just 3 percent of streaming subscribers pay for access to five or six streaming services.

On average, consumers said they pay $38.85 a month for streaming services right now, with the median price at $25.

Cable subscribers, not surprisingly, pay a lot more: Thirty-four percent of adults who have cable said they pay between $51 to $100 a month, while 28 percent pay $101 to $150 a month.
